Leopard Coloring Pages

Leopard Cub coloring page

Twenty free leopard coloring pages — a leopard cub, a big leopard face, a kawaii leopard, a leopard resting in a tree and a mother with her cubs, six snow leopards, a clouded leopard and a sheet of leopard print, with a realistic leopard, a leopard mandala and a zentangle leopard for older colourists.

Every spot and rosette is drawn as an open outline, so a leopard can be golden with dark rosettes, pale grey like a snow leopard, or any colour at all.

Easy leopard coloring pages

The five easy pages have big shapes and bold lines for young children: a round leopard cub sitting with its tail around its paws, a big friendly leopard face, a kawaii leopard licking an ice cream, a baby leopard asleep over a branch, and a fluffy snow leopard cub hugging its own tail.

Leopards in the trees

Leopards live in more parts of the world than any other big cat, from the grasslands and forests of Africa to India, China and the far east of Russia. They are superb climbers: they rest on branches during the heat of the day and even carry their food up into trees, where lions and hyenas cannot reach it. One page shows a leopard stretched along the branch of an acacia tree, and another shows a young leopard crouching in the grass to watch a butterfly.

Rosettes, not spots

A leopard’s markings are called rosettes, because each one is a broken ring shaped a little like a rose, with a lighter middle. That is the easiest way to tell a leopard from a cheetah, whose spots are solid dots. Even a black leopard — often called a black panther — still has its rosettes, hidden in its dark coat. The leopard print page is a whole sheet of rosettes to colour in any pattern you like.

Snow leopards

Snow leopards live high in the mountains of Central Asia, including the Himalayas. Their thick fur keeps them warm, their wide furry paws work like snowshoes, and their very long, thick tail helps them balance on rocky ledges — and wraps around their face like a scarf when they sleep. Unlike other big cats, a snow leopard cannot roar. There are six snow leopard pages: a cub hugging its tail, a snow leopard on a mountain ledge, a mother wrapping her cub in her tail, a young one leaping after a snowball, a realistic portrait and a stained glass window.

Leopard cubs and the clouded leopard

A leopard mother usually has two or three cubs and moves them from one hiding place to another while they are small. The cub pages show a mother licking her cub while its sibling plays with her tail, and two cubs tumbling on the grass. The clouded leopard, a smaller cousin from the forests of Southeast Asia, is named for its cloud-shaped markings and can climb down trees head first.

Detailed leopard coloring pages for adults

The six detailed pages suit coloured pencils and fine markers: a realistic leopard lying along a thick branch, a snow leopard portrait with its tail wrapped around its chest, a leopard mandala, a zentangle leopard, a stained glass snow leopard under the moon and a leopard doodle page.

Print the whole set at once

The button at the top of this page bundles all twenty into a single download, so you can print the lot for a class or a rainy afternoon rather than picking through them one at a time. Every page comes as a PDF in both US Letter and A4.
