Cheetah coloring page

Twenty free cheetah coloring pages — a cheetah at full sprint, a cub with its fluffy mantle, a lookout on a termite mound, a mother washing her cub, a wearable cheetah mask and a whole page of cheetah-print spots, all drawn as clean black-and-white line art.

Every spot is a ring, not a blob

A cheetah is normally drawn with solid black spots. It looks right in a photograph and it is hopeless on a colouring page — a few hundred filled dots, none of which can be coloured. On all twenty pages here every spot is an open ring with white paper inside it, so you can colour the spots as well as the cat.

The two dark lines that run from a cheetah’s eyes down to its mouth get the same treatment. They are drawn as outlines rather than solid stripes, so the face stays open too — and so do the nose, the ears, the paws and the rings on the end of the tail.

The fastest animal on land

One page shows a cheetah at full sprint, legs stretched right out, with dust kicking up behind it. Another has one sitting up on a termite mound scanning the plains — the pose cheetahs really use to look for a meal. There is also one stalking through tall grass and one drinking at a waterhole with the ripples spreading out from its muzzle.

Cubs

Cheetah cubs have a long crest of soft fur running down their head and back, called a mantle, which grown cheetahs lose. It is drawn on every cub here as separate tufts you can colour. There is a cub with a butterfly on its nose, two cubs play-fighting, a mother washing hers, and a family of four under an acacia.

A mask and a pattern sheet

One page is a cheetah face mask with a dashed line to cut along, two eye holes and a small hole at each side for string. Another is nothing but cheetah print — the whole sheet covered in open rings of different sizes, some with smaller rings inside them, to colour however you like. It makes good wrapping paper.

Which page to start with

The simple cheetah is the easiest page here — big rounded shapes, very thick outlines and only a dozen large spots. The mandala, the patterned cheetah and the realistic portrait are the slow ones and work better with fineliners than pencils.

Printing

Print at 100% scale rather than “fit to page”, and match the file to your paper — Letter or A4. The button at the top bundles all twenty into a single download.

Frequently asked questions

Are these cheetah coloring pages free?

Yes — all twenty download as free PDFs with no account, no email and no watermark on the artwork.

Are the spots already filled in black?

No, and that is the point of this set. Every spot on every page is an open ring with white paper inside it, so the spots are yours to colour too.

Which page suits a preschooler?

The simple cheetah, second in the set — big rounded shapes with very thick outlines and only about a dozen large spots. The cute cheetah and the cub are next.

Is there a baby cheetah?

Four pages have cubs on them — a cub with a butterfly, two cubs play-fighting, a mother washing her cub, and a family of four. Each cub has the fluffy mantle down its back.

What is the fluffy fur on the cubs?

It is called a mantle — a crest of long pale fur that runs from a cub’s head down its back. It may help hide them in long grass. They lose it as they grow up.

What are the black lines on a cheetah’s face?

Tear marks. They run from the inner corner of each eye down to the mouth and probably cut the sun’s glare, like the black an athlete wears under their eyes. They are drawn here as outlines so you can colour them in.

Can the mask actually be worn?

Yes — it has a dashed cutting line all round, two eye holes and a small hole at each side for string. Print it on card or thick paper if you can.

Which pages suit an adult?

The cheetah mandala, the patterned zentangle cheetah, the realistic portrait and the full-page print pattern have the finest detail.

Can I print these for a classroom?

Yes. Classroom use is fine and you can print as many copies as you need. Please do not resell them.

What paper size are the files?

Every page comes in both US Letter and A4, so it prints properly on either.
