Winter Coloring Pages

The snow is left white

Snow scenes are normally given grey modelling or a stippled texture so the snow reads as snow in print. On a coloring page that is most of the sheet gone. Here the ground, the drifts, the mountains and every cap of snow on a branch are plain outlines with nothing inside them, and the frozen pond is carried by skate tracks rather than by shading — so the pale blues and lilacs are yours to put in.

Winter, not Christmas

There is no tree, no Santa and no tinsel in this set. Christmas has twenty pages of its own, candy canes have a set of their own, and cocoa and blankets live on the cozy pages — so nothing is repeated. These twenty are the season itself: the cold, the snow and what you do in it.

Things to do outside

Five of the pages are scenes rather than objects — two children building a snowman, three skating on a pond, two coming down a mountain on skis and a snowboard, a sled going down a slope, and a clearing with a deer, a rabbit, a squirrel and a robin in it.

Snowflakes drawn big

One page is six enormous snowflakes, each with true six-fold symmetry and its own decorative infill — chevrons, a diamond lattice, feathered leaflets, nested arrowheads, scallops and leaded panels. Every arm repeats exactly, so a colour scheme laid on one arm can be copied round. There are twenty more in the snowflake coloring pages.

Six pages for adults

The patterned snowflakes, the winter wreath, the doodle sheet of twenty-six, the cardinal on a snowy branch, the snowflake mandala and the winter cabin.

Printing

Print at 100% scale rather than “fit to page”, and match the file to your paper — Letter or A4. The button at the top bundles all twenty into a single download.
