Fall or autumn — same pages either way

British and Australian readers land here searching for autumn coloring pages and American readers for fall, and it is one set of twenty either way. Nothing in it is specific to one country: the leaves are maple, oak, beech and elm, and the scenes are orchards, woods and farms.

The leaves are the page

Autumn artwork usually loses its best part to the printer: a tree crown comes out as one dark mass, a leaf pile as a shadow on the ground. Nothing is a silhouette

Colour ideas

Real autumn foliage rarely uses more than three hues at once. Pick one warm colour for the lightest leaves, one for the middle and one deep red or brown for the few nearest the ground, and the whole page reads as one afternoon rather than a colour chart.
