Nothing arrives already coloured

Tractor pages nearly always come with the tyres blacked in, which is the biggest shape on the page and the one a child most wants to do something with. Not here. Every tyre in this set is an open ring with white paper in the band and thin tread lines across it, so the wheel is yours.

The same goes for everything else: the radiator grille is drawn as separate lines rather than a dark panel, the cab glass is clear so you can see the seat and steering wheel through it, the hay bales have a few roll lines instead of dense straw, and the cow's patches are outlines rather than solid black.

No brands, no logos

Every tractor here is drawn generically. There are no makers' names, no badges and no colour schemes copied from a real manufacturer, so you can paint them whatever colour you like — and plenty of children will want green, or red, or purple.

A page for a two-year-old

One sheet is stripped right back: one tractor, a handful of thick lines, no panel detail and big open areas a fat crayon can fill. If the rest of the set is too fiddly, start there.

More than one kind of machine

A combine harvester cutting wheat, a digger on a building site, a telehandler, a baler and a muck spreader on the machinery sheet, a snow plough clearing a farm lane, and a 1940s tractor with spoked wheels, an open seat and a hand crank.

Farm scenes, not just machines

A farmer waving with a dog running alongside, a trailer of sheep passing a windmill, a load of pumpkins with a scarecrow in the field, cows and hens round the yard, and a full farmyard with a barn, a silo, a chicken coop and a cat on the wall.

Which page to start with

The simple tractor and the front view are the most forgiving — thick lines and large open areas. The vintage tractor, the patterned tractor, the farmyard and the sunflower field are the slow ones and work better with fineliners than pencils.

Print at 100% scale rather than “fit to page”, and match the file to your paper — Letter or A4. The button at the top bundles all twenty into a single download.
