Real rabbits, not just cartoon ones

Most rabbit collections are one cute character repeated forty times. Half of this set is that — a bunny hugging a carrot, a big smiling face, kits curled in a nest — because that is what a lot of people want. The other half is the animal itself: a correctly proportioned wild rabbit sitting alert on a bank, a hare with the long legs and long black-tipped ears that make it a hare and not a rabbit, six clearly different breeds on one sheet, and a close-up portrait built entirely from outlined fur tufts.

A cutaway of the burrow

One page slices the ground open to show a warren underground: three entrance holes, winding tunnels branching through the earth, and four chambers off them — one with kits asleep in a nest, one with a rabbit grooming, one storing carrots, one empty as a turning place — with roots, pebbles, worms and a beetle in the soil between. It works as a nature lesson as well as a coloring page, and nothing else out there has one.

Templates to cut out

One sheet is nine plain rabbit outlines with completely empty insides — sitting, hopping, curled, in profile, a head, and one pair of ears on their own — spaced so scissors can pass between them. Useful for tracing, displays and card-making rather than colouring.

Nothing is printed dark for you

Two things spoil most rabbit pages: the fur, shaded in with hatching until there is nothing left to colour, and the nose and inner ears blacked in. Here there is no hatching anywhere — fur is drawn as separate outlined tufts you can colour one by one — and every nose, inner ear, ear tip and paw pad is a hollow outline. Even the tunnels underground are left white. The only solid black in the set is the pupil of an eye.

Easy through to detailed

The easy pages have thick outlines and large open areas for a crayon; the first one has about twelve areas on the whole sheet. The middle pages will hold a school-age child for half an hour. The detailed pages — the zentangle rabbit, the mandala, the fur portrait, the wildflower meadow and the doodle sheet of thirty — will take an adult most of an evening.

Print the whole set at once

The button at the top bundles all twenty into a single download. Every page is a vector PDF at 300 DPI in both US Letter and A4, so it stays sharp however far you zoom in.

Frequently asked questions

Are these rabbit coloring pages free?

Yes — every page is a free PDF with no signup, no email and no watermark on the artwork.

Are there realistic rabbits as well as cartoon ones?

Yes. About half the set is realistic — a wild rabbit on a bank, a hare in a meadow, six breeds on one sheet, a close-up fur portrait and a rabbit among wildflowers.

What is the difference between the rabbit and the hare page?

A hare is bigger and rangier, with longer hind legs and ears longer than its head. The two pages are drawn to show that difference rather than repeating the same animal.

Do you have a bunny template to cut out?

Yes — nine plain rabbit outlines with completely empty insides, in different poses, spaced so scissors can pass between them.

Is there a page about where rabbits live?

Yes. One page is a cutaway of a warren underground — entrance holes, winding tunnels and four chambers including a nest of sleeping kits and a food store.

Which pages suit a young child?

The first bunny, the one hugging a carrot, the big bunny face and the baby bunnies in a nest all have thick outlines and large open areas.

Which pages suit an adult?

The patterned zentangle rabbit, the rabbit mandala, the close-up fur portrait, the wildflower meadow and the doodle page of thirty are the long ones.

Are these Easter pages?

No — there are no Easter eggs anywhere in this set. If you want the Easter versions, the Easter and Easter egg sets have those.
